About Us

Located on the corner of Hwy 35 (The Great River Road) and Main Street in Onalaska, WI, Maggie’s Restaurant offers a great home cooked taste to breakfast, lunch and dinner. Opening in February of 2009, Chef Mary Cody brings 16 years of passion and sense of adventure from Traditions, her first restaurant located right next door to Maggie’s. While Traditions offers a fine dining experience, Maggie’s atmosphere offers a casual hometown feeling where everyone knows your name and a place to hang your hat day after day, night after night. Mary’s desire to use local produce and to offer seasonal menu items is reflected in both restaurants and makes for a unique experience every time you dine.

The concept for Maggie’s Restaurant developed from the locals desiring a casual night spot as well as a breakfast and lunch location.

Maggie’s Restaurant and Traditions are directly across from the Great River Bike Trail so when you get hungry you can get to us by bike, or you can order ahead of time and take a picnic lunch with you. We are also directly across from The Great River Landing. This is an extraordinary project and will offer local arts and culture, unique shopping, and authentic local dining.

Maggies Story
Maggie’s restaurant was named after my beloved four-legged friend and companion of fourteen years. Maggie May was my yellow Labrador and was everyone’s favorite, as well as everyone being her favorite.
